Two Sundays: March 1 and March 15

Greetings Friends,

Join us for an Artist Talk at the gallery with Jack Poker, moderated by Molly O’Donnell! The event will be from 2 - 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 1. Refreshments will be served.

Then on Sunday, March 15, we will host a special pop-up art and discussion event with Nancy Marks called “Material Witness” - Sunday, March 15 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. which will explore parallels between what is happening today with ICE in our communities and what happened in 1940’s Nazi-occupied Europe. Material Witness

“Material Witness” is a special pop-up event to be held on Sunday, March 15 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm featuring artist Nancy Marks. There will be time for viewing her 25 drawings from 2:00 - 2:30, and then the discussion will begin at 2:30. Nancy presents work born from her experience as the daughter of a Holocaust survivor. She delves into her mother’s harrowing girlhood in Nazi-occupied France and confronts the chilling parallels between her ordeal in the 1940s and the realities faced by immigrants today.

The exhibition features Nancy’s haunting artwork along side quotes from her mother’s memoir, and quotes from immigrants today. Nancy facilitates conversations focused on connecting the exhibition's content to current events.
